Capturing Untouched Wilderness

LUMEN began as a study of sub-polar geology, evolving into a dedicated practice of documenting the world’s most remote, untouched wilderness areas.
My work focuses on the intersection of extreme weather and geological time. By spending weeks in isolation across Iceland, New Zealand, and Patagonia, I aim to capture the quiet, monumental shifts of the earth that are often overlooked in the rush of modern life.
Each image is a result of patience and technical precision. I prioritize natural light and authentic textures, ensuring that every print reflects the raw, cold beauty of the landscapes I explore.
Field Milestones
Icelandic Volcanic Study
Mapped basalt formations across the highlands during a 60-day solo trek.
Southern Alps Expedition
Captured high-altitude glacial shifts in New Zealand’s remote fiordlands.
Patagonian Granite Archive
Completed a comprehensive visual survey of the Torres del Paine wilderness.
Conservation Commitment
A portion of all print sales supports habitat restoration projects in the regions I document, ensuring these landscapes remain pristine.
Documenting Wilderness Across Remote Latitudes
Years of field work across Iceland, New Zealand, and Patagonia. These milestones represent the core of my landscape photography archive.
Volcanic Highlands & Glacial Light
Landmannalaugar & Vatnajökull Interior
Traversed remote volcanic tracks to document the stark contrast between obsidian basalt fields and the ethereal glow of sub-polar light across ancient ice.

Alpine Fiords & Braided Rivers
Southern Alps & Milford Sound
Captured the raw power of glacial melt channels and the quiet, mist-laden granite headwalls of the Southern Alps during the transition of seasons.

Granite Spires & Calving Ice
Torres del Paine & Fitz Roy Massif
Endured extreme winds to photograph the rare dawn illumination on vertical granite monoliths and the deep blue hues of calving glacial ice fields.

Black Sand Coast & Ice Diamonds
Jökulsárlón Shoreline & Basalt Cliffs
A focused study on tide-tumbled ice fragments stranded against volcanic black sands, framed by the receding light of the northern autumn.
